ACT Prep : Year Round
This initiative will directly serve students across Pleasant Grove and the broader Birmingham city area. The program will provide one on one continuous, high-quality test preparation for students from 10th through 12th grade. By eliminating financial barriers to premium test resources, it will dramatically enhance our youth's college eligibility, scholarship opportunities, and future professional trajectories.
The objective of this program is to prepare Jefferson County students to excel on the ACT exam. By elevating student scores, this initiative will directly improve our overall school performance ratings. As a key metric in public school accountability, ACT outcomes fundamentally shape how our schools are perceived and evaluated.
We are currently launching a pilot program at Pleasant Grove High School, featuring a 4-week intensive tutoring course for approximately 42 seniors preparing for the October ACT. This targeted initiative is designed to immediately impact our school accountability scores. Looking ahead, our long-term goal is to scale this program across the Jefferson County school district to ensure all local schools can perform at the highest possible level.
Our foundation is led by founders Regina Vann Williams and James Bradberry IV. As a Pleasant Grove High School alumnus, Super Bowl champion, and 9-year NFL veteran, James is deeply committed to investing in his community. By partnering with the Jefferson County Commission, state leaders, and local officials, he actively champions our mission to create lasting local impact.
The primary beneficiaries are students in grades 10–12 within the Jefferson County school system. This group includes over hundreds of high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors who are preparing for post-secondary education or entering the workforce. This targeted initiative is just the beginning of a monumental shift for our students, laying the groundwork for long-term academic and personal success.
